LOS ANGELES, CA.,Jan 1, 2012 – AMC Theatres and Codeblack Entertainment, a leading new media andfilm company helmed by Jeff Clanagan and Quincy Newell, today announced theirmulti-year partnership to exclusively release films on select AMC screensacross the country. 

Bishop T.D Jake’s Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the Seventh Day,will be the first film to roll out under the new multi-year deal.  Starring Blair Underwood and Sharon Leal, Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the Seventh Dayis the second film out of Bishop T.D. Jake’s franchise Woman Thou Art Loosed.  Releasing in select AMC Theatres nationwide onApril 13, 2012, Woman Thou ArtLoosed:  On the Seventh Day is a filmabout secrets, lies and deception, asa husband (Underwood) and wife (Leal) find themselves in a horrible crisisafter their 6 year-old daughter is kidnapped.

Not yet sealed to amulti-year deal, in September 2011, Codeblack Entertainment released KevinHart’s Laugh At My Pain exclusively in AMC Theatres, and within 3 months, surpassed $7.7 million atthe box office, becoming the most successful film of the year opening in under300 theaters.  Clanagan plans to utilize similar strategieswith future theatrical releases under this new AMC venture. 

Alsoin 2011, Codeblack Entertainment deployed its“Transmedia” concept to help comedian and actor Kevin Hart create amulti-channel revenue generating strategy for his brand and product Laugh At My Pain.  Essential to the success of this effort,CB was able to establish an overarching brand narrative that was imbedded intoa portfolio of customized Kevin Hart products to be leveraged across multiplemedia platforms. The product portfolio consisted of a live performance tour, asmart phone mobile game application “Little Jumpman,” apparel products, afeature film, an animated web series, a social media eco-system and DVD(digital and mobile products).   

CB’s Kevin Hart transmedia brandcampaign helped to position Kevin Hart as a bonafide media star. The campaigngenerated over 1-billion brandimpressions and media views, captured a direct consumer base of over 7-millionfans and has generated over $15-million dollars in revenues.  

Woman Thou Art Loosed: On The Seventh Day isdirected, and co-produced, by Neema Barnette. The screenplay is written by CoryTynan and revised by T.D. Jakes. T.D. Jakes (Not Easily Broken, Jumping theBroom), Curtis Wallace (Not Easily Broken), Jordan Babineaux, Jonathan Babineauxand Michael Turner are executive producers on the project. Jeff Clanagan andNina Henderson Moore produce the project. Gina Holland and Jamie Balthazar areco-producers.
